Some of my favorite entertainments are reading contemporary mystery novels and tracking our family genealogy. My husband says I am a bookworm. I believe that chasing old relatives from two, three or four hundred years ago is a lot like reading a mystery. I have some of our ancestors tracked back to the 1500's. I like to be able to "prove" the ancestors, so I don't list any beyond where I am comfortable. As difficult as it is to find some of those people, I think some may be trying to hide from us. What do you think? |
Over the centuries the spelling on most family names took on small variations, but the blood-lines stayed the same and are verifiable.... theoretically, ..."Somewhere".
